Where/when is your book set?
Audley Castle, in the fictional village of Audley St. Mary. The castle is loosely based on Audley End House in Saffron Walden. I wandered the house and grounds for hours after the idea of a modern day baking sleuth and her fluffy sidekick came to mind. I couldn’t get them out of my head, so ended up writing nine books about their adventures.

Who is your main character?
Holly Holmes. Holly went to work in the castle kitchens after her village cafe shut and soon became friends with castle residents, especially her best friend, Princess Alice Audley. Holly loves all things historical, animal, and cake. She also tries new fitness trends to work off all those yummy cakes. In one book, she’s introduced to the wonderful world of goat yoga. In Mint Frosting and Murder, running after suspects and keeping everyone safe burns off the festive treats!

Why is Christmas so important to the story or you?
In Mint Frosting and Murder, Christmas brings together the suspects (and the victim.) Princess Alice Audley welcomes her former school friends for Christmas, but one of them is discovered dead in her bed! Then they get trapped in by the snow, so Holly must solve the mystery without the help of the police or the castle’s surly security team.
